Pay Scale Range: $17.00-$36.00 per hour
The deck builder will have skills and knowledge of carpentry, takes pride in their work and strives to achieve a high level of quality and job site safety. Your job will involve working in changing outdoor weather conditions and the job location will vary.
The deck builder will be someone with experience with framing and carpentry and will conduct deck, fence, and patio cover installations under the supervision of the foreman. Safety is very important to us and so experience and knowledge of health and safety standards is an asset.
The job responsibilities are:
-Conduct fence and deck installations under the direction of the foreman
-Conduct routine setup and cleaning of the job site to ensure the site is clean and free of hazards
-Follow industry safety practices.
The work experience requirements are:
-3 years of experience working on a construction crew
-Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and tools & equipment is required
-The ability to use a large amount of hand, power operated tools and small engine equipment such as drills and circular saws is required
-Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time is an asset
-Ability to work at heights and on ladders is required.
-Ability to work in changing outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, dust and humidity
-Comply with all company policies and procedures and can understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
-Ability and willingness to dig post holes and footings when necessary.
-Excellent customer service skills and professionalism is required as our work is customer facing
-Good work ethic and punctual
-First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets
- Working at Heights, Elevated Lift and other typical safety certifications are considered assets
-Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
-Physically fit and able to lift up to60 lb.
