We reimagined this penthouse as a New York City retreat for our LA client, opening it up fully to light, air, and the City beyond.

Here’s how:

• Opening up a long wall of the apartment to City views through a retractable glass wall system

• Creating easy access from the living room and primary bedroom to a private terrace with sweeping views of Manhattan

• Transforming a fireplace wall into custom back-to-back glass fireplaces for indoor and outdoor enjoyment

• Navigating a challenging process to secure NYC Historic Landmark Commission approval for changes to the historic façade

Within 24 hours, our amazing clients went from renovating their house... to planning their dream home on the lake.

Before we could even start their original project, a rare opportunity presented itself, when a waterfront home came on the market, ready for a new vision. 

Lake homes like this are usually passed down for generations, so when this one became available, they didn’t hesitate.
 
Take a peek at our beautiful renderings that feature locally sourced stonework, a bridge that connects the garage to the house and doubles as a canopy for the front door, a porte-cochere that opens to cascading terraces, and expansive windows with a panoramic view of our clients’ beloved lake.

After we renovated their traditional house in Greenwich, our clients returned to us - to transform their dated Park Avenue apartment into an expansive, light-filled, contemporary space…
