Getting a head start on March Madness (that’s what I call spring cleaning. What? It also means something else?) Bathrooms are a great place to start! They are small and limited. 1. Remove every singe thing from the room. You will be surprised at how much that tiny space is holding! 2. Clean and scour the room till it sparkles. It’s so much easier without all that “stuff” in there. 3. Sit down and get comfortable with that pile of stuff. Throw out the obvious garbage: expired medicines, empty tubes of toothpaste, etc. Divide what’s left into categories: makeup, hair, teeth, face, first aid, cleaners, etc. 4. Ask yourself if you have too much of anything. Consider donating some items or at least putting a buying freeze on certain categories until you whittle it down to a reasonable quantity. My clients know this is as the “use it and get rid of it program”. I’m not a minimalist like some organizers out there;) If you love playing with different hairstyles and have bins of haircare items, great! Just know what you have, make sure you really want each item, and know where it is. It’s that simple. 5. Look at the storage options you have in the bathroom and figure out what makes the most sense when putting everything back. Don’t just put it where it’s always been. Ask yourself if is in a place that makes it efficient and accessible, so that finding items and putting them away is inherently obvious. 6. Post a picture here of your great new space! Call me for help if you’d rather have a fun partner in the process! ericaconway.net
