Great way to start a Thursday morning. We got the opportunity to add some feature trees as well as a couple of accent trees for a homeowner in our local community. 2 Emerald Green arborvitaes were added to accent the corners of the house overlooking the back yard. A very nice River Birch Clump as added as well. The yellow fall colors and the peeling bark of the River Birch make for a stunning display.

On the front of the house, an Emperor 1 Japanese Maple was planted in the corner of the front rock garden. As the tree continues to mature, the red color variations will really pop against the gray background of the home.

As always, we appreciate each and every opportunity and patronage.

Busy, busy this week. The first of 2 additions is coming along nicely under the watchful eye of Hank. The 3000 square foot high tunnel greenhouses are underway as we speak, with the first one's frame erected. While there is a still a lot to do, it is nice to see one of them standing. The property is continuing to change, and we continue to move forward. Hopefully adding 6000 feet of protected growing area will provide a bit of a boost - especially in Missouri's unforgiving winter season. We like it when we are GROWING!

What a nice way to wrap up a Sunday afternoon. We had a customer drive up from Emporia, Kansas and purchased 14 total 1- 1/2-inch caliper red maple cultivars. They chose 3 each Brandywine maple trees, 3 each Autumn Blaze maple trees, 5 each October Glory Maple trees and 3 each Sun Valley maple trees - all in 25-gallon containers. I have to admit that I was a bit surprised we got them all loaded in the 14-foot covered trailer. This customer is going to have a kaleidoscope of color around their property once these are planted and established. As always, we appreciate the opportunity and patronage.

We planted a couple of 2-inch caliper, 12-foot-tall Celebration Maple trees for a homeowner north of Kingsville, Mo this afternoon. The Maples were replacing some recently removed Ash trees that were devasted by borers.

The Celebration Maple were selected because it combines beauty, resilience, and low maintenance, making it an excellent choice for both residential and public landscapes where a striking, structured tree with exceptional fall color (Golden Yellow with red/orange tones) is desired.

When these bad boys color up, they will provide striking accent to this beautiful log home.

Provider of all types of Shade, Fruit and Ornamental Trees as well as custom shelters and hardscaping. Owned and operated by the Hood family right in the Heart of Hoodville - just north of Holden, Mo.

We got the opportunity to plant this 2.5-inch caliper, nearly 14-foot-tall Linden tree just south of Holden, Mo this morning. The customer specifically requested a Linden tree to replace an aging one that has about run its race.

The homeowner commented that she loved the fragrance of the Linden, and the sound of the bees and other pollinators frequenting the trees.

Linden trees typically bloom from late June through early July, producing clusters of small, yellowish-white flowers that dangle beneath the branches. The flowers release a powerful, far-reaching perfume that blends honey and citrus notes, attracting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Mature, well-maintained trees produce the most potent fragrance.
