Great Basin Natives We grow plants that are native to the Great Basin and surrounding areas. The Great Basin covers most of NV, a large part of UT, parts of ID, WY, OR, and CA.

Great Basin Natives is a nursery that grows a wide variety of plants. In addition to native plants we also grow bedding plants, perennials, and veggies. Onion plants are available in the early spring. We also have beautiful hanging baskets and tubs that enhance the entrance to you home.

Stansbury Rock Daisy, Perityle stansburyi. The seeds for this plant was planted over two years ago. It and two there plants survived the winter in a cold frame. I potted them several months ago. There is one more that germinated this spring. A seed look like a shiny speck of pepper. This is rather rare, and grows 10 to 20 of rain/year.

Fremont Barberry, Mahonia fremontii, is one of my favorite drought tolerant shrubs. The flowers have a sweet, pleasant aroma, and the sweet fruit is ripe in the late fall. The fruit makes good jelly. It is six feet tall and about eight feet wide. It is completely covered with flowers.
