Increase new/existing low-yield wells or properly decommission old ones. I have been in the water well industry for over 33 years working with my father in-law, the legendary John Gilbert, of Gilbert Well Drilling (GWD) who has almost 60 years experience! I am a Veteran of the Maine Air National Guard where I flew KC-135's for 20 years. I have worked with the hydrofracturing of water wells for over 30 years! We are a locally owned and operated company and are fully licensed and insured.

On this National Groundwater Awareness Week check out the brochure from the Association and take the necessary steps to protect our most important natural resource and keep your home's water supply operating smoothly for years to come. Did one "just off" Route 3 in Trenton today. We heard a few of you go by! This 220' well was drilled many years ago by an old style machine. The customer had issues with it multiple times in recent months. A 900 psi break and it is now producing 9.5 GPM!

Taking advantage of the warm spell in Southwest Harbor this week. This well was drilled in 2018, 400' and produced 1 GPM at that time. The original cottage was recently torn down and a new year round home is being built. The builder and plumbers did not think the well was still producing adequately. A 550 psi break and the well is now producing 10 GPM. 👍

Almost forgot to take a photo of this one last week. No historical data on the well other than it is 180' deep. The static level of the water had dropped to 120' and the well production was far from meeting the customer's needs. A 575 psi break and the well is now producing 10+ GPM! Customer was very happy with their mid January decision to try and save their well.

People often ask if we Hydrofrac in the winter. We do, but we have to pick and choose our days. Yesterday was one of those days, with temps in the 40's. This 440' well was drilled in 1988 and once produced 1/2 GPM, but its level had now dropped to almost 200' below the surface. A 700 psi break and a positive result of 1.25 GPM.

Been a very interesting few weeks on the fracking front. We have had five wells in succession that could not see a drill rig again without some major yard and/or home reconstruction efforts. In other words, hydrofracturing was the only hope of making these wells produce for the customers. Yields for the five were, 5, 10+, 0, 4.5 and 2 Gallons Per Minute. The 0 was very unique in that it was a shallow well on a hill on MDI. We could not create pressure as there were large caverns that took all the water we pumped in. 1500 gallons later, no change. This was a first!
Overall, some great improvements to wells that were somewhat challenging to reach. Huge shoutout to Nate Holyoke Builders and Andre for supporting us with their 25 ton crane on one job. Many thanks!

Another great well this week. Worked directly with a driller on this one to supply two buildings in Lamoine. The well was at 400’ and 1 GPM when the decision to frac was made. A 650psi break and the end result was 12 GPM! Hydrofracturing = proven results.

Interesting article… However the last sentence could not be farther from the truth. Most often the best option for a drilled well that is not, or has stopped producing, is Hydrofracturing. Efficient, safe and proven results!

Maine's ongoing drought is now considered "severe" or even "extreme" across much of the state, with hundreds of wells running dry.

Another great result last week in Brooklin. Well drilled in 1999 with 2GPM. Well stopped producing enough this summer. Customers could take a shower but were doing laundry off site. Pressure released at 800 psi and the well now produces 10 GPM!

Busy few days on the hydrofrack front. Successful well yields (GPM) in Ellsworth, Bar Harbor and Deer Isle. We worked with a hydrologist on one that had turned to saltwater but the salt was sealed off, then the well was producing 1/4 of a gallon per minute. They were making it work with a holding tank but wanted to try fracking. We were able to provide them over 2 GPM of fresh water!
Give us a call or text if you are battling with a low or no production well. We are usually on site from call to frack in less than a week. (207-460-4620).

Took the equipment out to sea for a little island work recently. This couple from TX had been using this well without issue for several years but started having trouble as of late, having to ration usage to only basic needs twice a day. We journeyed out on the ferry and were able to provide them with 4 GPM. We were even able to save all their trees surrounding the well!
