New Funding Opportunity – Now Accepting Applications!

The IHS Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention is inviting applications for Phase 2 funding of the IHS Produce Prescription Pilot Program (P4). This funding opportunity is designed to expand and enhance food security initiatives in Native communities by supporting partnerships between health care providers and food systems.

P4 focuses on increasing access to fruits, vegetables, and traditional foods, improving nutrition, encouraging healthier eating habits, and supporting overall well-being. Applications are now open for the National Summer Youth Practicum!

Native American and Alaska Native high school students are invited to spend a week in the mountains of Northern Colorado gaining hands-on experience.

Hosted by the Native American Fish & Wildlife Society, this practicum empowers the next generation of Native youth in this field.

- Open to students ages 14–17 across the continental U.S.

The Choctaw Nation is recruiting farmers to redeem benefits for WIC, Farmers Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Programs. πŸ₯•πŸ₯¬

- Farmers are not required to live within the CNO reservation.
- Farmers must commit to selling their products within the CNO reservation.
- Farmers must be growing at least four vegetables and/or fruits.
- Farmers may purchase an item they do not grow themselves from another farmer if it is Oklahoma grown.
- Products must be Oklahoma grown or grown in counties bordering Oklahoma.

Eligible nominators include Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Corporations, Tribal organizations, and national/regional organizations with expertise in Tribal issues.
