"Hot off the press...LAZY GIRL SOURDOUGH!!!"

I decided to simplify my sourdough today… which is code for: I skipped half the steps, trusted the dough to figure out its own life, and hoped for the best. My starter looked at me like, “Ma’am… this is not the routine we discussed,” but we pushed through.

Somehow this low‑effort loaf came out beautiful—like, “did I accidentally unlock a cheat code?” beautiful. Maybe the real secret to great bread is lowering expectations and letting the dough raise itself for once.

I just used my basic sourdough recipe. You can find it here:

And the best part is you can use these ingredients and instead do only three stretch and folds and leave it covered on the counter overnight. Wake up, shape, place in your loaf pan and bake... Much simpler if you love the convenience of using a loaf pan.

Try this simpler recipe and let me know how you like it. I found it to cut my prep time in half and still bake tangy sourdough.

Anyway, if you need me, I’ll be over here slicing into my “lazy girl sourdough” like I planned it this way all along.

Bake now before it deflates too much and collapses.
