Started the week off at a property in Princeton working along side The Crane Man, Inc.. Grateful to have Pete there (he’s the owner & truly one of the best operators around) helping Tyler guide everything safely over the wires. Big projects like this remind us how important it is to have the right people you trust by your side. The crane was the safest & most efficient way to get these trees done.

Running a small family business has its pros & cons- just like anything else! Between the long hours working out in the field & what seems like endless hours in the office. The phone calls that come at dinnertime that are hard to just let ring until the next business day. Missed calls because we’re trying to soak in these moments while our girls are still little (I’m working on that-Tyler reminds me I can answer a call & still be present, even if it means missing a moment or two).

But one of the many positives of having this business? We’re allowed to involve our girls whenever we want. They come to work with us, they help clean up, we have family days where we go estimate together & they get to play in mounds of wood chips which keeps them entertained for hours.

It’s not always easy, but it’s ours- & we wouldn’t trade it for anything. So thank you all for making this possible & for supporting us this entire time. We wouldn’t be able to do this without all of you!

Another big (& crispy) tree in the heart of Phillipsburg the boys tackled yesterday.

The client originally received a quote that involved bringing in a crane, shutting down the street for the day, & racking up a serious bill — so they reached out to us for another option. One of the many good things about Tyler is he’s an exceptional climber & doesn’t shy away from challenges- he actually enjoys the mind work that goes into technical removals like this one. Between being right on the neighbors house, the services lines, a pool, deck & neighbors out for a walk - he handled this with grace & ease as he always does.

But he couldn’t do any of it without the solid ground crew below him. From rigging to communication, the team on the ground kept everything running smoothly & safely.

Big trees are one thing— working them safely around high voltage is another. Between the wires, the wind, & tight space, we really had to bring our complete focus to this job.
We followed proper MADS & EHAP protocols to keep everything safe around the lines. In the tree, it was solid tie-ins, backups, & good positioning to stay safe with the wind gusts.
Running a bucket & tandem climber setup let us stay efficient without rushing anything—everyone knew their role & it showed.

Big jobs like this come down to trust, teamwork, proper ex*****on & doing things the right way.

This tulip poplar had decay, tight access, & no margin for error—but with the right plan & the right crew, everything went smooth & safe. Tyler set up a four-sling configuration for clean, controlled picks, & Tommy made the cuts in the tree. Tommy’s time at crane safety climber school really paid off for this one!

Proud of the precision, communication, & the work we put in together. It’s nice to be back at it!

As always a big thank you to The Crane Man, Inc. & the operator of the day, Beau Coshin . Just a great group of humans to work with.
