Recent finished project! These clients were so wonderful to work with! I was excited to highlight the fun-loving, witty, and classy family that lives here. Kitchen refresh with painted cabinets, new permanent island, addition of marble picket backsplash, updated lighting, open shelving, and new frosted pantry and mudroom doors started the project. Renos and updates continued throughout the first floor with new bathroom vanity, painting stair railings and interior walls, and switching out light fixtures everywhere possible. Did I mention the homeowners favorite color is blue?

My homeowners were using their formal dining room as an office. It was time to convert it permanently. After designing the desk, shelves, and location of doors specifically for the homeowner’s military memorabilia, helicopter blade, and gun safe, we were able to create enough storage and display space tailored just for them. The busy family of 6 needed just that-storage and a space where everyone could work together. We also added a few cubbies under the stairs to provide some more hide-away space. The “before” pictures don’t show it, but the formal dining room was a huge opening with no doors at all. Adding the double French doors and another French door into the kitchen allowed us to define the space and make the gun safe a “cool factor.” But, he would say it already was the cool factor!

When was the last time you did something for the first time? Today! I have always wanted to go to “Market,” for a sneak peek of the latest and greatest trends of furniture, rugs, tchotchkes, and oh-so-many-many treasures to see! Only open to the trade, DBL was able to make it’s first appearance since I officially started “Designs By Liza” this past March. Thanks to Marjorie Fish, my design assistant, who made the trip more fun exploring as much as we could cram in one day!

Final touches made today to this living room, breakfast nook, and front entry made this couple’s space seem homier. I was honored when the home owners thanked me several times and said how much they loved it already.
