What a weekend! We loaded up in Hondo, Texas and made the trip all the way to Fort Davis to compete in the Smoke in the Mountains BBQ & Ribeye Shootout and it was worth every mile, especially when it was free entry.

After the smoke cleared, we took home:

🐓1st Place Chicken

🐐1st Place Cabrito garlic jalapeño

🐷5th Place Ribs

Enough for 9th Place overall

The competition was a tough one, and we were honored to cook alongside so many talented cooks in this stacked field . Huge thanks to everyone who supported us, cheered us on, and helped make this weekend a fun and special weekend.

There’s nothing better than great BBQ, good friends, and seeing all the hard work pay off. Fort Davis treated us well, and we can’t wait for the next competition!

We traveled to Uvalde to cook the 4th Annual Makenna Elrod Seiler Memorial Cookoff. Friday night got a little crazy with the South wind, but settled. Saturday started out decent and then the weather got crazy. Drizzle, wind, but everything went well.
