Not every yard starts level. When a driveway sits above grade, you need structure that can hold up long-term without looking like an afterthought. For local nonprofits, the work behind the mission matters.

That’s why our team was proud to spend time volunteering at EquiCenter, Inc., helping spruce up the grounds for an organization that gives so much to the Rochester community.

EquiCenter has been known for adaptive riding and therapeutic horsemanship. But their impact reaches even further through many programs, including therapeutic horticulture, organic-practice farming, farm-to-table cooking classes, mustang gentling, and nature-based educational programs.

Their work serves people of all ages and abilities, with a special focus on individuals with disabilities, youth from underserved communities, veterans, and first responders. What an amazing organization!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help care for a place that creates healing, connection, confidence, and community every day.

A big thank you to the EquiCenter team for the important work you do, and to our JOSH Landscape Co. crew for showing up and giving back.

This backyard renovation is in its teenage phase, a little awkward right now, but the vision is absolutely there.

When complete, this family will have a fiberglass pool with paver coping, a full patio, a composite deck, and a structure underneath that intelligently makes the most of every inch. But before any of that goes in, there's a lot of work that happens underneath. Grading, drainage, structural planning, and town permitting for the pool and hardscape. It's not glamorous, but it's what every great backyard is built on.

Most people don't think about these critical elements until they're working with a team that actually handles them. When it's done right, the rest of the project unfolds exactly the way it should.

Most people think the hard part of a backyard project is picking the right materials. It’s not.

Our designer Nicole Reddington is on site walking through what actually determines whether a project succeeds — proper design plans, grading, and town permitting for pools and structures. The stuff that happens long before a single paver gets set.
We’re mid-build here. A lot of progress made, a lot still to come. But you can already see it taking shape and that’s because every decision before we broke ground was deliberate.

Having a team that can handle design, permitting, grading, and ex*****on under one roof isn’t common. It’s the difference between a project that looks good in photos and one that holds up for decades.

Set the stage for your home's curb appeal with foundation planting.

On this Pittsford project, the homeowner wanted to refresh the front landscape by hitting reset. We tore out the old to make room for the new. A paver walkway, front stoop, flagstone patio, and planting. All connected through proper design and installation.
