🌺 He Moʻolelo Pōkole no ka Noni 🌺
I ka wā kahiko, before stores and doctors, the people listened to the land. When sickness came and other plants failed, kūpuna turned to noni—the bitter fruit that healed when nothing else could.
Though its smell was strong and its taste harsh, noni carried deep mana. Taken in small amounts, with prayer and patience, it brought balance back to the body and strength back to the spirit.
Noni grew where the land was rough—lava rock, salt wind, dry soil—teaching the people that healing comes from resilience. Like the plant, the people learned to stand strong, even in hard places.
And so the kūpuna said:
“E ʻai i ka lāʻau, e ola ke kanaka.”
