Satawal Canoe sailing into Okinawa - 1975, a year before the much celebrated Hokulea voyage from Hawaii to Tahiti in 1976.
The brother Navigators Repunglung and Repunglap from Satawal made the 2,926 km trip using their traditional navigational skills with no backup and no fanfare.

Correction: The crew consisted of Repwanglug, Almwai, Ikichep, Lamwolik, Metewalur, Tepang, and Togomei.
