Before I leave HAPI, I would like to take a moment to recognize my wife, Lynn Young, for her many contributions to HAPI over the years as a dedicated volunteer. Much of what she has done has been behind the scenes, but it has played an important role in keeping things running smoothly. Lynn has handled office filing, prepared name tags for lunch meetings and training events, and prepared the PDH certificates for our training programs. She has also maintained photo records by taking pictures at lunch meetings, training sessions, and Career Day events. At Career Day events, she has helped man the table—running the paving train activity and engaging with students. In addition, Lynn has kept our training and lunch meeting databases up to date, supporting our ongoing education efforts (with the databases originally developed by Jay Kumar of Jas. W. Glover, Ltd.).
At national meetings, when she has attended with me, her positive and welcoming presence has reflected well on HAPI and the spirit of our organization. And for those of you who have visited the office during Halloween or the holidays, the beautifully decorated door is Lynn’s work—a small but meaningful touch that reflects the care she brings to everything she does. Her steady support and willingness to help wherever needed have made a meaningful and lasting contribution to HAPI.
