Richard Hoffman features this 19th-century English mahogany desk with a roll-top tambour front. Open it up and there’s a leather writing surface with gold tooling, pigeonholes, with two drawers. Lion-head pulls on the drawers below, cupboard underneath, shelves up top.

Designer Richard Hoffman with a stag that brings a little drama to the holidays and stays welcome all year. Chrome plated with gold-tone antlers, an ornate embossed saddle and collar, and a confident stride across a rocky base.

Make it the centerpiece of a holiday table, then move it to a chic console where it stands on its own as sculpture.

Now at Umbrella Antiques & Modern at The People’s Store, 28 N. Union Street, Lambertville. Open daily 10 to 6.
