Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company

This Victory threshing machine, the only one known to exist, is planned to be at the Baraboo show for the big 2019 Minneapolis feature. This threshing machine was in Wisconsin for many years until it was sold. It is operational and will be running every day at the show. This is a real special machine and it will be fun for everyone to see it run.

Here is a fun little fact, the LAST steam engine that MTM built is engine number 8708, and it is still in operation. It will be at the Baraboo show this year for the big Minneapolis Feature. After about 1916, MTM made code stamped boilers, and the last boiler they built was not used on the last engine. The last boiler was #593 and it was used on engine #8702. That engine got a new boiler about 12 years ago, but the last boiler still exists. Engine 8708, the last engine built, had boiler #589. There may be 6 people that care about this, and I am sure that they all are on this page.

Thanks to Gary Yeager for the picture. We are hoping that Jeff Knutson will pull a plow with his 1899 22 HP tandem compound return flue when it is at the Baraboo show this year. A few years ago he did pull a plow at the Edgar show. Seeing a return flue plow is a very rare occurrence.

Have you made your plans for the big Minneapolis Feature at Baraboo next month? There is going to be a great display of Minneapolis steam engines at the show. Some of the special engines include the oldest operating engine, the last engine built, the oldest operating double cylinder engine that came from the factory with the double smoke stack, one of only a few operating 16 HP engines, the only operating return flue tandem compound engine and the only operating direct flue single tandem compound that also happens to be the only remaining 45 HP single tandem compound engine of the 7 built. There will also be threshing demonstrations using the only know Minneapolis Victory hand feed threshing machine. It should be a great show.
