I want to start this post off with.... Charlene is NOT retiring! (Donā€™t encourage her either, weā€™re hanging on as long as we can! šŸ˜‰)This is simply a thank you....

Thank you to the always lovely Miss Charlene! Today is her 35th Anniversary working for Ace! Over the past 35 years, she has helped 3 generations of owners stay organized, a wide array of staff learn the ropes around the store, and countless customers with expertise and a smile. It is because of our long-time staff that Ace is the wonderful store it is. We are forever grateful for all of the years of service that Charlene has dedicated to Ace and look forward to celebrating her next milestone down the road.

Thank you, Charlene!

(I repeat, she is not retiring. Her lovely face will still be here to help for years to come! Every time I make a post like this, everyone wishes the employee well in retirement. We're not letting her go that easy! šŸ¤£)

Alright friendsā€¦. We had an absolute blast tonight! We were asked to share a few recipes from the Wine Walk Ace Stopā€¦ so here we go. Iā€™m going to get as close as I can, because I adjust recipes and flavor from the ā™„ļø

Burnt Finger Fire Crackersā€¦
Mix 1 cup oil with 1 1/2 tablespoons Bearded Butcher Ranch Seasoning (available at Ace) , 1 1/2 tablespoons Burnt Finger BBQ Steakhouse Rub (also available at Ace) and 2 Tablespoons Crushed Red Chili Flakes. Shake in large container with 4 sleeves of saltine crackers. Smoke in a large metal pan on your Traeger at 190 (with super smoke on), mixing in between, for around 30-40 minutes.

Smokey Ranch Dipā€¦.
Lightly coat a block of cream cheese in seasoned salt. Smoke for 2 hours (Brad says 3, but Iā€™m pretty sure I was too tired to make it to 3) on your Traeger at 190 degrees with super smoke on. Take out and mix it well with 1/2 cup of mayo and 1 tablespoon of ranch dip mix. Fold in one thin sliced green onion and 3/4 cup sharp shredded cheese. Chill for two hours or overnight.

Tropical Arbor Mistersā€¦..
Mix one bottle of Exotic Fruits Arbor Mist (thanks Lynnā€™s DakotaMart for ordering us a couple of cases!), one cup of pineapple juice and one can of Sprite. Serve over frozen berries.

Season with your heart, adjust to your taste, and enjoy!

After many years of hard work and persistence, graduation weekend is finally here for the class of 2026. We wish you all an amazing weekend making memories with your friends and loved ones! Congratulations on a huge accomplishment.

We also want to recognize one graduate in particular, Braxton Watson, who is graduating a year early with this class and starting his next adventure! For the last two years heā€™s been a special part of the Ace team and we canā€™t wait to see where the road takes him next. We know heā€™s got amazing things ahead. Way to go Braxton!

Tomorrow's the day.... we're kicking off the summer season and joining in the Hot Springs, SD Chamber of Commerce Wine Walk!

Stop by Ace to sample our Tropical Arbor Mister.... a light and fresh twist! Try some Burnt Finger Smoked Fire Crackers and putt a hole in one to win a fabulous prize! Purchase your commemorative wine glass ($15) or water bottle ($5) from the Chamber at their Changing Seasons booth or on the other end of town at the depot. Then stroll with your friends through town, enjoying the fun of the afternoon. Snacks, wine, and games all along the path. When you're done, hop on a golf cart to catch a ride back down the street.
