The debut of our garden collaboration with Middle Township Environmental Commission and Cape May County Park and Zoo is next Saturday! Our own Brittany Dobrzynski Welch will give some remarks on the importance of native plants and how we can make a difference for pollinators and wildlife as a community if we all do our part.

Join the Middle Township Environmental Commission and the Cape May County Park & Zoo for the unveiling of two new native gardens created to educate, inspire, and support pollinators in our community.

Savanna Gardens at the Cape May County Park & Zoo

This special project highlights native plant education, pollinator habitat awareness, and the power of community partnership.

Rain Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026

We hope to see you there.

Blue-eyed grass (*Sisyrinchium angustifolium*) isn’t actually a grass at all—it’s a member of the iris family, and a charming native forb producing delicate blue flowers in late spring above tidy grass-like foliage. Sisyrinchium is a great choice for borders and pathways. After blooming, foliage can be cut back to keep plants looking neat throughout the season.

Beyond its beauty, blue-eyed grass supports early pollinators, provides cover for beneficial insects, and will gently self-seed in moist soils to form natural drifts over time. Get you some at our next plant sale; June 5 and 6.

While many are packing up their beach chairs for Memorial Day weekend… we packed in the native plants!

Loaded up and headed to Avalon to install a new native garden for a client just in time for some much needed forecasted rain. We're focused on bringing pollinator plants, habitat, and a little more life to the Jersey shore one yard at a time.

Rain or shine, the plants (and our smallest helper) are ready to go.

Bradbury’s Monarda is putting on a show in the wildlife garden!

Don’t let her petite size fool you — this early bloomer reaches just 1.5–2 feet tall, but readily fills in a space twice her size with soft lavender blooms and lush, aromatic foliage. Adaptable to a variety of soil types and sun conditions, she’s an easygoing perennial that brings big pollinator energy to the garden.

As a bonus, her fragrant leaves tend to be left alone by deer and rabbits, making Bradbury’s Monarda a hardworking crowd pleaser. Small but mighty… just the way we like our garden favorites. Pick one up at our upcoming plant sale June 5 & 6!
