They say a lawn should be an area rug, not wall-to-wall carpet. Our client, Ashley, traded her turf for a garden that helps feed her family and soul.

A trio of raised bed gardens brings beauty and production to her backyard. The Ivy arch trellises provide vertical interest and are the perfect spot for growing tomatoes. And, the hummingbirds enjoy the flowers and feeder.

Whether it’s the bite of a fresh tomato or seeing a butterfly flutter in the garden, the space finally feels alive.

There is something wonderful about taking your garden to new heights. Trellises are a key element of our garden designs. They add visual interest and increase growing space.

This spring we mostly have tomatoes and cucumbers growing on trellises. The cucumbers are pros and trellis naturally with their delicate tendrils. Tomatoes need a little help and you have to support them with Velcro tape or clips.

What do you think we grow on our trellises in winter?

Nothing beats coming home to a landscape that feels like a private sanctuary. Our Magical in Memorial project is the perfect example of how we transform outdoor spaces into a true daily retreat.

The fountain greets homeowners the moment they pull in their driveway. To add a place for bountiful harvests, we installed a trio of steel raised beds anchored by Eagleston Holly trees. We spruced up the containers using a mix of thrillers and spillers.

We don’t just plant flowers, we cultivate outdoor experiences so you want to spend all your spare moments outside. Schedule your consultation today. Link in bio.

We’ve had our first hummingbird sightings. Now’s the time to clean your feeder and fill it. We boil 4 parts water to 1 part sugar until dissolved. Let it cool and then fill the feeder. Change water every few days.

Also, add plants to your yard that the hummingbirds will enjoy. A few favorites are Cigar Cuphea, firecracker, Turk’s Cap, Tangerine Beauty Crossvine, Pentas, Nasturtium, and Salvia Greggii.

Save this post so your yard is hummingbird ready.

Before & after! Watch from beginning to end to see the transformation. A fountain and stepping stones will complete this project 🦋.
We’ll revisit this outdoor garden room in one month to show you how the gardens are filling in!

In a world that moves at the speed of a scroll, the garden is the ultimate “unplug.” It’s a sanctuary that doesn’t just ask us to look, but allows us to slow down.

Are you ready to have your own garden sanctuary?

Peppers are a staple in the spring Houston garden. A few varieties that we always plant are banana, shish*to, bell, hatch, and jalapeño.

We’ve noticed leaf miners impacting our pepper leaves. Don’t worry, they normally don’t not harm the plant or production. You can simply remove impacted leaves. Just don’t prune more than 1/3 of the plant at a time.

Anyone else seeing leaf miner damage on their plant leaves?
