1975 called. They want their trash compactor back. We only had to attempt to pick its lock then saying screw it, attempt to rock it out from the cabinets, attempt to chisel it out the grout that held it in, then finally having success by slamming a dolly underneath it.

Patiently awaiting our new wine/beverage fridge.

Cheers! 🍷🍷

Let me start of by saying, we've been super busy lately so the posts and blog entries have kinda taken a backseat, but we're slowly working on it.

Since the last post we:

1) removed part of the slab to relocate the shower drain to center.

2) finally, we started leveling the floor! It's been a long time coming. I started by finding the high spot in the bathroom and then marking the height deltas throughout the room. You can see that there is some big drops in the bathroom; some of them getting to -1 3/8". We're going to need a lot of leveler.

3) at the toilet fl**ge we have about 3/4" of an inch before the leveler is level (lol) with the top of the fl**ge. This is going to be an issue since we still have 1 3/8" to go. I have an idea that may work if I can secure the parts and pieces. Stay tuned for my solution.

As soon as the leveling is done we move on to tiling and then things should start taking shape. Thanks to for sticking it out with me.

Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff was the theme for today. We continued tearing out the bathroom. Light fixtures, furrdowns, doors, and the remaining fiberglass shower were on the list to be removed. We managed to get everything out and we got a round of cleaning done. While Shannon was working on clearing some of the stuff out, I patched the water closet floor with some Sika Concrete Patch. Next up is to clean the floors and get ready to level the bathroom, build the curb for the shower, and dry wall the ceiling where we demo-ed. But plans change on the fly, so stay tuned for updates.

Today we resumed bathroom remodel activities. Yesterday was an off day, so we could catch up on other household chores; laundry, dishes, yardwork etc. Today's goals were to clean up as much dust as possible, there was so much dust, and to get an idea of how out level our floor is. I took our handy 6' level and scoped out the floor. Turns out it's not as bad as I thought it was. The biggest delta I recorded was about half an inch. I was totally surprised. Next up for us is to build the shower pan curb, tear out some bad drywall, and float the floor. Things are getting exciting, so stay tuned.

PS: feel free to ask any questions. It might help us catch something we missed!

So yesterday went off the rails a little. stopped by and with the extra horsepower he brings we decided to rip out the vanity and the majority of the tub. Today's agenda is to finish grinding the floor and if time permits, taking the rest of the tub out.
