We’re incredibly thankful to Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas and Texas Capital for their collaboration and support. Rebuilding Together Houston completed a roof replacement for Ms. Silvia Vargas, just in time for hurricane season. These critical repairs will help her remain safe and comfortable in the home she loved for more than 40 years.

For nearly 20 years, St. Martha's Helpers has made homes accessible for our neighbors in need. Since 2007, this incredible group has completed more than 400 ramps for Rebuilding Together Houston homeowners! We are so grateful for their longtime partnership, dedication, and compassion that continues to change lives across our community.

Rebuilding Together Houston is proud to welcome Previn Jones to our Board of Directors.

Previn brings extensive experience in real estate investment and asset management, with a strong focus on affordable housing, financial analysis, and portfolio growth. As founder of CES Asset Management LLC and former Chief of Staff for Houston City Council District B, he has led major capital programs and advanced community-focused development initiatives. His expertise in value creation and mission-driven impact will help strengthen our work across the region.

National Rebuilding Month in action 💚

This April, we helped 95-year-old Ms. Juana Tolentino remain safely in the home she’s loved for over 50 years. Critical repairs by Rebuilding Together Houston improved safety and accessibility, while CenterPoint contractors provided weatherization at no cost. CenterPoint volunteers also completed exterior projects, including painting, landscaping, and rescreening the porch.

Rebuilding Together Houston is partnering with Harris County Housing & Community Development to repair the homes of neighbors in need. Together, we repaired the home of Ms. Mitchell, who is disabled and cares for her 4 grandchildren. Repairs included full roof replacement, electrical rewiring and upgrades, window replacement, siding replacement, flooring replacement, bathtub to shower conversion and accessibility upgrades, plumbing repairs and installing window AC/heater units. Thanks to Thao Costis, the HCD Single Family Rehabilitation Team, and Commissioner Adrian Garcia for providing this program to eligible Harris County homeowners. Ms. Mitchell can now safely age in place and pass her home on to future generations of her family.

Built with purpose. Backed by service. ⚒️

Through the rain, this passionate volunteer team from ExxonMobil —including members of their Veteran and Latino ERG groups—showed up for Mr. Branch, an Air Force veteran and homeowner in our community.

Led by Matt and Raul, the crew spent the weekend painting and building a brand-new fence, creating a stronger sense of safety, privacy, and pride around the home.

From military service to community service, this project was a powerful reflection of what it means to show up for one another. We’re honored to work alongside volunteers who carry that spirit into everything they do. 💚
