UPDATE: (10/02/16) The remains located last week have been positively identified as Forrest Nearing. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.

UPDATE: (9/24/16) It is with great sadness we report that today foot searchers located remains believed to be those of Forrest Nearing. The appropriate authorities have been notified and a positive identification must still be made. Our hearts are broken for the Nearing family and his loving community who worked so hard to help bring him home. Please continue to lift up his family in your thoughts, prayers and actions.

UPDATE: (9/3/16) The search for Forrest Nearing has been temporarily suspended pending new information. We would like to thank everyone for your support and assistance and would ask that you continue to pray for and support the Nearing family during this most difficult time. Please check back here for updates on our efforts to bring Forrest home.

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating 39 year old Forrest Nearing, missing from Alvin, Texas. Forrest was last known to be headed to the Chocolate Bayou in Brazoria County on Tuesday, August 30th. If you have seen Forrest or know his whereabouts please contact S. Richardson with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office at (281) 756-2392 – or call Texas EquuSearch at (281) 309-9500.

*Must have access to reliable transportation and working smartphone
*Must have general computer skills and a basic knowledge of Excell, Word, Email, and Outlook
*Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
*Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
*Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
*Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
*Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
