Alyse earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston, and has been gaining experience working in multi-family residential housing since graduation. Join us this Monday as we celebrate Women’s History Month and the incredible impact women are making across Houston’s Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations industry.

GSMA sponsored a powerful and thoughtful conversation on supporting health at work as part of the Women in Architecture 2026 Equity Series: What We Carry last week. The program began Thursday with a calming desk-format meditation and sound healing session led by local yogi Lesley Monroy, creating space for reflection and stress relief. On Friday, Carrie Hirdes led an engaging panel discussion exploring opportunities that leaders can better support employee wellbeing in today’s workplace.
 
We are also proud to share that our Principal, Petra Salameh, serves as the Equity Series Chair this year and helped organize this meaningful event. Bringing important conversations around women’s health and workplace wellbeing to the forefront.

We are starting off our Women’s Month by elevating one of our very own, Petra Salamah! 
We are thrilled to announce her promotion to Principal!
 
Petra is a licensed architect in Texas with a passion for thoughtful, impactful design. She holds a Master of Advanced Architectural Design from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston. Beyond her work at GSMA, Petra also serves as the Equity Series Chair for the Women in Architecture Committee, where she helps foster important conversations around equity and leadership for women in the profession.
 
Petra’s leadership, dedication to design excellence, and deep commitment to mentorship continue to elevate our practice and positively shape the communities we serve.
