A Closer Look | Once a simple lawn, this home’s side yard has been transformed into an urban oasis teeming with life and excitement. A new custom-designed cedar gazebo and seating space was built opposite from the existing back patio to which it is connected by stepping pads bordered by Corten steel planters and a recirculating fountain. This charming structure beckons you into its cooling shade and provides framed views outward into the garden. An ample, sun-drenched square of lawn allows for active play and activities while numerous species of flowering perennials please the bees and butterflies. Holly trees and a Japanese yew hedge embrace the garden and promote privacy.

A Closer Look | Rustic Elegance 🪴

We created a French country-style garden to complement this estate home in Piney Point village. First, stone walls and hedges were installed to clearly define a series of outdoor spaces — each with their own unique character — including a parterre framed by olive trees, a lush flower and herb garden, and a central area with a koi pond and fountain. We also incorporated a swimming pool and stone-formed seat wall along the house’s central axis, anchoring the backyard among the pines, while combination of travertine, corten steel and cypress wood give the property its unique sense of rustic elegance.
