Atlas Alarms, LLC - Texas Help make family owned small businesses great again. We have been giving our customers peace of mind

Atlas Alarms, LLC is a family owned and operated full-service security company. We have been protecting residential and commercial customers in Texas since 1956. Our offices are located in the heart of Houston and our monitoring stations are located in San Antonio, Texas. We are independent of larger national companies so there are no long term contracts or activation fees. We can monitor over tra

ditional phone lines, VoIP, Internet TCP/IP or wireless GSM radios. Our alarm equipment can monitor and detect nearly anything you can imagine from temperature change, dangerous gases, smoke, water and intrusion detection. Atlas Alarms gives back to the security industry by volunteering substantial time and resources to local and state trade organizations relating to security in Texas. We are members of the Texas Burglar & Fire Alarm Association, Houston Gulf Coast Alarm Association, Texas Locksmiths Association and a founding member of Greater Houston Locksmiths Association. We are active within our trade organizations to help guide local ordinances and state legislative efforts. We believe security should be a partnership between your family and ours.

Quite often I forget to take a picture of our fearless leader and I while we're working in the field. Today we're switching over a building with two different access control systems, to a new single system. The wiring is crazy rediculous and much of it is inaccessible. We have to tone and double check evey wire to make sure we have the wires we need for the intended purpose.

We had a false alarm at my house today (Living Room Motion), but what I think is really cool, is how the two keypad cameras and video doorbell work with the alarm system to send me pictures from inside the house and outside my front door to let me decide if I wanted to dispatch. If I had more integrated cameras, I'd be able to see even more. Don't judge my utility room. Lol

Most of our work is retrofitting existing installs with new systems. In this case, these pedestals have been here for around 25yrs and the underground piping and wires has all be lost and doesn't go where we need it. We decided to run pipe above ground. Anything else is cost prohibitive. It took some creative pipe bending and flexible electrical piping to get this all to work.

Working with the ol' man this evening. We have a card reader pedestal that is in the middle of a gate entry/exit and there's no underground piping to get the wire where we need it. So we're out here with heavy galvanized pipe to run on top of the cement, parallel with the gate tracks. What you see I the picture, is a pipe threader, so we can cut and thread the ends of our pipes to fit properly. Not a common site in this business. I'm sure glad the ol' man has all these tools.

We haven't had to prep a virgin door for access control in a couple of years. It's always nice having the right tools & jigs to do the work. We also had to core the door from the hinge to the cylindrical hole for wire. Glad the door gods were smiling on us today. The hole trajectory was perfectly straight. I'm very fortunate to have a master teacher to pass these skills on to me.

Working with our fearless leader trying to diagnose an issue with an electrified mortise lock. Circuit was blowing fuses. We checked the wire, there's no short on it. We thought it was the electrified hinge, so we replaced it. We put the lock power on, but it still blows the fuse. Now we're checking the lock solenoid. Just another day of service work.
