I started this painting...I'm not even sure when, and finally sat down to finish it. It's based on a beautiful old church I used to drive past after tutoring lessons and I always wanted to do some sort of painting of it. I love stained glass windows! 😊

It's been a while. Like quite a while! This painting (which is still in progress) was an exercise in frustration, but I've grown to love it! I began this painting while I was recovering from a concussion. I finally had the time and opportunity to paint, so I sat down with a canvas, and I just could not think of a single thing to paint. (I blame the concussion...) I decided to just follow a video tutorial to work on some technique. I found it SO frustrating! Nothing was working out how I wanted it, and I walked away more than once. (Again, I blame the concussion!) I didn't finish the painting the weekend that I started, but I walk past it every day, and the more I look at it, the more I actually like it. I also like that it reminds me to not give up, and that even when I think things are not working, they may be going better than I think they are in the moment. Hopefully I will find the time to sit down and finish it soon!
