We had the honor of participating as volunteers this past Wednesday as part of Saluting Branches in Saratoga at the National Historic Park that commemorates a famed Revolutionary War victory. We also helped plant trees at the Gerald B Solomon Veterans Cemetery.
A big thanks to who organizes the Saratoga event. And to and his crew who participated with us, along with other local tree workers from across the area.

New Leaf Tree Services is hiring for the position of operations coordinator.

We are looking for a driven, organized individual with excellent communication skills to assist with running both our tree and landscape operations. Duties for this job will include client communications, directing crew meetings, site check-ins, quality control, assisting with tree and landscape work, and other organizational elements that help facilitate our work.

This is a full time position, and includes benefits (OT pay, vacation, sick days, holidays, health insurance, retirement). Hourly rate between $25/$35 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
-legal to work in NYS
-valid NYS drivers license with clean driving record
-ability to communicate clearly
-ability to retain and recall information quickly, details oriented
-experience working in fast-paced business environments
-strong work ethic, self motivated, and passionate about tree and landscape work
-smart phone and computer skills - including google suite / Microsoft docs
-experience in either the tree service or landscape gardening fields
-experience in leadership positions
-experience in sales a plus
-ISA certified arborist a plus but not a requirement - we may provide training for the right candidate
-ability to drive a truck with a landscape trailer a plus
-CDL A or B is a plus but not a requirement - we may provide CDL training for the right candidate

We are excited to announce we will officially be opening our nursery to the public!  You can now stop by New Leaf Monday through Friday to take a walk through the nursery and select from our collection of native plant all-stars.

We are excited to share that at 10 AM Farmscape Ecology Program will be holding a special presentation on their new book “From the Hudson to the Taconics: An Ecological and Cultural Field Guide to the Habitats of Columbia County, NY”.  They will be giving an introduction to the goals and structure of the field guide, share how it was created, and how it is envisioned to be used by the reader.
