☘️ Do you know why the shamrock is used as a symbol of St. Patrick's Day? The shamrock is believed to be representative of clover (though there is much debate about exactly which species), which St. Patrick purportedly used as a visual aid while explaining the mystery of the Holy Trinity. It's actually been associated with the Irish as far back as the end of the sixteenth century!

On the feast of St. Patrick, it became customary to wear fresh sprigs of clover in your hat or upon your coat. After attending mass, men would find their way to the nearest tavern (lifting their Lenten restrictions) and begin to toast to St. Patrick with glasses of whiskey. When it was time for last call, they would toss their fresh sprigs of clover into their last drink, and upon finishing their booze, they would toss the wet greens over their left shoulder for good luck in a ritual known as "drowning the shamrock".

🌱 About halfway through March...and that means it’s time to start more seeds inside! I might also venture into the garden to plant a few seeds out there like radishes, peas, and arugula. I wasn’t quite sure about it, but there was a robin outside on the grass this morning and now I feel like spring is especially close! Have you seen any signs of spring on the way? 🌸 ☀️

✨ ACCOUNTABILITY // There are times in our lives when we say things to our friends and family - "She made me so angry" or "He's making me so upset" - but guess what? No one else has the power to make you feel any specific way!

When we say things like this, we're blaming someone else for making us feel that emotion, and we're absolving ourselves of responsibility in our reactions.

A small but very powerful shift you can begin to make in your life starts by holding yourself accountable for your own emotions. Instead of quickly shifting the focus back to another person, try to bring more awareness to these instances going forward - own your feelings. You can still be angry, you can still be upset - but you will begin to understand the "why" behind your emotions.

Claim your feelings, hold yourself accountable, and witness your life begin to shift in a more positive direction. 🍃☀️
