Better Than Rocks

We've been getting a lot of questions about using Better Than Rocks in planters with veggies. It works great! It is made from the same material that this pot is - the one pictured here. It will not rot in your pot, and it will not hold mold or mildew. On the contrary, since it provides optimal drainage for your container, it helps prevent soggy roots that can become rotted!

Use Better Than Rocks for all your container gardens, and you will enjoy lighter pots, better drainage and healthier plants.

Better Than Rocks helps oxygen reach the plant’s roots by creating an air pocket in the bottom of the planter. It also creates even and thorough drainage. Without adequate drainage, the bottom of your container will likely become waterlogged.

Succulents love direct sun, but if yours is sitting in the same exact spot day after day, it's likely that only one side is getting enough light. Langton and Ray suggest rotating the plant often. Succulents will lean towards the sun, so rotating them will help them stand up straight.
