Drywall Repair/Bathroom fan/light replacement:

The old fan was a big circular cutout, no modern fan would cover the gap so we put in some sheathing and installed drywall patches and installed the new fan. A little paint and it'll be Better than new!

Replumbing an old house and removing all the old baseboard water lines to install a new heating system...VERY tight quarters.

The first thought was, "I'll never fit."
The second thought was, "Well, SOMEBODY had to have gotten back in there at some point!?"

We could have ran the water lines out through the open part of the basement but it would have taken more material which means more cost to the homeowner and it wouldn't have looked as clean. We're all about right, not easy 😎.

With our business we make a lot of trips to the landfill. If you have any large items your trash man won't take or small piles from cleaning out the garage etc we can haul these items away for you for a minimal fee.

Here are the kitchen pics. There were several burst pipes along with several dead legs in the plumbing so we also replumbed the entire house. We also recommended a great cheap upgrade...new White dimmable recessed LED's to replace the old yellowed can fixtures! and we made custom cabinet doors for the built in pantry to match the new kitchen cupboards.

Here we removed the ceiling and 2 walls then drywalled them along with the bottom section removed by the water remediation crew. We added an overhead light, replaced all the outlets and covers, new flooring and trim.

Todays finds. A "Red Arrow Columbian No. 63 1/2" vice. Manufactured in the 60's by Columbian Vice and Manufacturing Company they were bought out by Wilton in 1996. Wilton is a top manufacturer of vices today.

Next up, an Avoca field hockey stick. The company was founded in 1895 and manufactured sticks in Avoca, NY. This appears to be solid wood and so that would date this to at least pre 1940 at which time this company switched over to laminated sticks. Actual measurements of the stick could possibly pinpoint it's exact age.

OK history buffs we are still working in Watsontown...

We found 2 crate pieces as you see pictured above in what used to be an old brick store front. The man on the address label was born in 1901 and passed in 1980 in Watsontown, so these have been above that garage for at least 50 years!

G.B. Wilson coined the term "air conditioning" in a textbook in 1908. The very first domestic AC unit was then installed in a mansion in Minneapolis in 1914.

This company "United States Air Conditioning Corporation" had to be one of the earliest companies to manufacture domestic AC units. US Air Conditioning Corporation opened in Minneapolis in 1916, just two years after the very first unit was installed in a residence in the same town. Now I can't find their closure date yet and so we have no way of guesstimating the age of these exact crate ends but regardless they could be very special pieces of the history of A/C!?

Dupont was the first to introduce freon in 1928.
