This row was Sweet Annie last year, but I am trying to convert this field to perennials so sadly I don’t want to take advantage of these very vigorous volunteers.

I think I may have an addictive personality because I’m becoming just as obsessed with baking sourdough as I am with growing flowers. 🌿🍞

If I go more than a week without baking, I start missing the whole process—the mixing, the folding, the smell of fresh bread filling the house. It adds a rhythm to my week that I’ve really come to love. And honestly, eating warm sourdough straight from the oven isn't a bad perk either!

Since you all cleaned me out so quickly last time, I’m planning ahead this week and baking enough loaves to stock the stand with fresh bread each morning.

Ahhhh!!! 🌸🚐

Today is our very first flower delivery in the big white van, and I may be just a little bit excited about it. 😆 If you want to get on our wholesale list shoot me a message!

My husband and kids are campaigning hard to name it “The Big White Whale,” but I’m not completely sold yet. Once we get the Morning Star Homestead logo on the side, I think she’ll finally earn an official name.

It’s funny how something as simple as a delivery van can feel like such a big milestone. Every little step makes this flower farm dream feel a little more real. 🤍

Not going to lie… getting home from vacation felt a little overwhelming.

The to-do list was waiting for us when we got home, and somehow it got even longer while we were away. Thankfully, we intentionally planned four days at home before my husband headed back to work—and we put every bit of that time to good use.

The last four days have been full of long hours, dirty hands, and checking off as many projects as possible. We’ve worked hard to get the flower farm back to a place that feels manageable again.

Is my to-do list still a mile long? Absolutely—especially with our Summer Season Grand Opening less than a month away. But today I’m feeling encouraged. More flowers are blooming every day, the farm stand has had a steady stream of customers, and little by little everything is coming together.

God is so good, and I’m incredibly thankful for this season, this farm, and all of your support. 🌸

The dopamine rush. 😍

One of my favorite things is when my husband walks by an arrangement I threw together from the farm stand leftovers and says, “That looks nice.” Feels extra special for my man to notice my flowers.

Not every bouquet finds its way home from the stand, but I have to admit—it’s a pretty nice perk when the unsold flowers end up brightening our house instead. 🌸

What do you think about a rectangular loaf of sourdough? Love it? Hate it? Don't care as long as it tastes good? 😄

The last time I baked bread, you all bought 24 loaves in just two days, and my poor oven could barely keep up with demand!

So I'm testing a new baking method that allows me to bake *three times as many loaves at once.* The only difference is the shape. The weight, size, ingredients, and flavor all stay exactly the same—just a rectangular loaf instead of the traditional round one.

I'd love to hear your thoughts! Would you still buy a loaf if it looked like this?
