Hoffman Grayson Architects LLP

THE FIRM

Hoffman-Grayson Architects LLP was founded by Neal Hoffman and Glen Grayson in 1981, as an architectural and interior design firm. From the outset, the founders recognized the economic and environmental benefits associated with the renovation and re-use of existing buildings, and chose to specialize in this aspect of architecture. Since 1981, the staff has grown steadily and includes gra

duate Architects and Interior Designers whose skills complement those of the Principals. Firm members are encouraged to be activists in their profession and community. Neal Hoffman served as president of the Long Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1991, and has been an active board member of the Huntington Historical Society. The firm engages in pro-bono work to benefit the community, and firm members are active advocates for quality design. THE TEAM

We are excited to announce that earlier this week, Neal Hoffman and Hoffman Grayson Architects LLP, along with the developer, Peconic Equities, were honored at the Long Island Business News Real Estate, Architecture & Engineering Awards. The Elm Street Lofts Project won an award for Top Mixed-Use Renovation. This project involved the conversion of nearly 4,000 sf of second floor office space and the addition of a 4,400 sf third floor to create nine luxury apartments in Huntington Village, while maintaining the first floor commercial spaces. Congratulations to all of the other honorees!

Long Island Veterinary Specialists was established as Long Island's first 24 hour critical care and trauma center equipped with CT and MRI in a 12,000 square foot facility, in June 1998. As their services outgrew their initial space, they acquired more space, and ultimately the entire building in Plainview, with the vision to expand all services and create an education center.

Initial design concepts for this latest expansion were developed in 2016, with construction breaking ground in early 2020. The multi-year project is poised to re-open, as phases 1 and 2 of the three phase project have been completed in February 2023.

The hospital was in a nondescript building in an industrial park along the Long Island Expressway. The architects identified that it was important to establish a dramatic physical presence, that was iconic and recognizable, day and night, at highway speeds on the LIE. The new modern facade is pierced by an angled two-story high waiting room and entry vestibule, with broad expanses of glass, to welcome clients.

The waiting room has doubled in size, with amenities that include varied seating areas, refreshments, and airport-style media counters with stools and built-in charging ports.

Exam room capacity has expanded from 14 to 22 rooms, with all existing and new exam rooms being designed specifically for various specialties.

To eliminate the need to walk patients outdoors, a spacious indoor facility- aptly named Central Bark, was designed to create a sanitary indoor potty area.

The newly completed LIVS Education Center, featuring a 95-seat tiered amphitheater and a large conference room, both with fully integrated state-of-the-art multi-media capabilities, support their relationship with the College of Veterinary Medicine at LIU.

The project site was completely redesigned, to improve parking and safety for staff and clients.
