What a great way to create good motor skills with a little one. These are very imaginative ideas and don't cost nearly what real toys do (although a few cars and balls may have some cost--or could be hand me downs. Then when the toddler is 4 or 5, take them out into a natural area and teach them about nuts and acorns, leaves and yes, poison ivy! All easily learned while they are young!

This delightful scene happened last night in the Monte Sano State Park.
Just don't plant hostas you don't mind losing--or to provide the deer with an unnatural food. We certainly have a lot of does up here, and probably a couple of happy bucks in hiding.
I saw 4 does cross the Boulevard on Saturday at 5 pm. They were coming down from Inspiration.
