One of our favorite tips for family organization is simply but astonishingly effective: **store items where you most frequently use or need them**.

To make organization "stick", it's really important to consider your individual family's habits, routines, and daily needs. For example, if your kids always rush out your side door for biking or skating, don't store their helmets with the baseball gear by the back door. Make sure their helmets and kneepads are stashed where they can grab them quickly and without help from you on their way out the side door. When it comes to meal prep, having your knives and cutting boards close to the counter where you chop and mix saves precious time and unnecessary trips across the kitchen. Storing your sewing machine and fabric scraps together near the table that you typically work at will increase the likelihood that you will actually carve out some time to hem those drapes AND return your supplies to their home when you are done. Proximity helps!

Only you know the little habits and quirks that make your family unique. That's why we’ll work closely with you to create systems that feel natural and intuitive. Imagine not searching for what's needed during the chaos of the dinner rush—everything you need can be right where you typically use it, making life a whole lot simpler.

Take the first step towards an organized home that flows with your lifestyle!

Can you believe we’re already halfway through 2025? Time flies! Recently, someone asked me about the items we declutter the most, and I decided to narrow it down to our top 5 decluttering culprits and share it with y'all. Here’s what you should be tossing out to reclaim your space:

1. Old product manuals and takeout menus – Let's be real; everything is online now. You can find video tutorials for just about anything!
2. Expired medication, spices, and canned goods – Check those pantry and medicine cabinet shelves. If it’s past its prime, it’s time to say goodbye.
3. Old boxes – Yes, even the "good" ones! If you haven't used them in the last year, let them go.
4. Duplicate and unused kitchen gadgets – Do you really need two potato peelers? Streamline your kitchen tools to only what you actually use.
5. Cords and chargers – Toss anything that doesn’t have a device attached to it. Trust me, it feels amazing to declutter those tangled messes!

Want to see me lose it? Move my kitchen scissors. Seriously, when you need them, you need them immediately—no one has time to search the house while raw chicken is waiting to be prepped on the counter. This is exactly why I've labeled them as KITCHEN SCISSORS. Respect their designated spot! It’s not just about convenience; it's about keeping the kitchen efficient and safe. So next time you think about returning them to craft supplies or the junk drawer—think again! Let’s keep the chaos at bay!

What kitchen items do you absolutely refuse to share? Let me know in the comments!

As women, we pour our hearts and souls into our families, homes, and communities. It’s in our nature to nurture and uplift those around us. I admire our ability to rally together and get things done—give me a group of women, and I know we can create magic. But here's the catch: we often neglect our own wants, needs, hopes, and feelings in the process.

If having an organized, tidy home lights you up, then this is your moment to claim it. You don’t need anyone’s approval or consensus; this is your home too! Prioritize what matters to you, even if it’s not on anyone else’s radar. Don’t wait for validation—take the initiative, carve out the time, and create a space that reflects who you are. You deserve it!

Remember, self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential. Let’s empower each other to embrace our desires and create harmony not just for our families, but for ourselves.

We offer free estimates via text! Reach out today to see how we can help you achieve the home of your dreams!

I heard this statement on a podcast the other day and the truth of it really resonated with me. Humans are hardwired to always want more, better, faster, etc. Our brains CRAVE novelty and this can lead us down one of two paths. One path is where we spend the bulk of our time and money on the endless pursuit of the newest shiny thing (despite the older less shiny thing still working just fine). The other path is one where we recognize this tendency in ourselves and work hard to be grateful and satisfied with what we have while keeping our new, shiny purchases to those things that will really enrich our lives. The first path often leads to feeling overwhelmed in our homes and lives while the second can help us maintain a home and life that feels calm and just the right amount of full.

I was thinking about this "what's rare is precious" concept in terms of our kiddos too. This is why we advocate for toy rotation or toy libraries. When kids have access to all their toys all the time they come familiar and "boring". Play becomes stagnant and the requests for new toys become constant. When toys are rotated out and little ones don't have access to them for a period of time they feel fresh and exciting when they are rotated back in! Having fewer toys to clean up on a day-to-day basis AND keeping toys feeling new for as long as possible....WINNING!

Want to learn more about how we can help you simplify your child's toys and set up your own toy library? We would love to help!

What is a "clutter threshold"? Your clutter threshold is the amount of stuff you can personally manage and keep under control before it becomes stressful and overwhelming. We all have different brains, upbringings, and preferences and because of that we all have different amounts of visual clutter that we are able to tolerate without adverse effects. We know when we have exceeded our threshold because our homes become difficult to clean, the things we need become difficult to find, and we find ourselves feeling anxious or overwhelmed by our homes.

Can I have a few notebooks or library books out on the table occasionally? Sure. Can I have a table top filled with art supplies, legos, or "to-do" piles? Nope. Not if I want to show up as the most kind, patient version of myself for my family.

I have a girlfriend who is stunningly creative and her home is filled with in-progress projects. There are puzzles the family is doing together, model cars the kids are building/painting, a modpodge collage, and a scarf she is knitting. Her home feels warm and cozy and I love spending time there BUT if I were living there my brain would likely short circuit because of all the visual input. Her home functions beautifully for them and wouldn't work at all for me...and that is A-OK. My clutter threshold is lower than hers. Neither way is "right" or "wrong". Part of having and keeping your home organized and peaceful is doing some introspection and figuring out how much you can (and want to) manage while still having your home feel like a place of refuge.
