Not just any kitchen.
So, Facebook popped up a memory recently…this wasn’t my post or my pictures…it was a post that my client posted of her kitchen while I was in process. It was my very first kitchen cabinet job. I was stressing BIG time.
My client was a friend from church (though I was fairly new to the area), she did not care that I had never professionally painted cabinets before…or ever worked a sprayer. She was extremely patient with me. She actually bought my sprayer and let me work it off. The same sprayer that I still use. I did Benjamin Moore Advance Satin in Moonlight White on her kitchen and laundry room cabinets. Pale Oak on the walls. I went on to do her living room, dining room, hallways, master bedroom, both kids rooms and downstairs bath.
She had recently lost her husband to cancer. We talked a lot. We cried. I repaired a lot of damaged walls in her grieving teen son’s room. Tried to give her daughter a bright, cheery space. But it was a tough season for them. My client learned she was battling cancer as well. Not too long after I got all the spaces finished, she lost her battle and I believe was reunited with her husband.
I think about her every time I use my sprayer. I am so thankful for her trust in me, the time I spent with her and her heart for Jesus.
Hug your loved ones and keep them close.
