With 2026 underway, the first few projects and upgrades have begun. We are quickly approaching frost seeding time for those perennials. Don't over complicate it, let Mother Nature take its course. Here are the steps moving into spring

1. Soil sample
2. Lime asap
3. End of February overseed those perennials and let the freeze and thaw draw the seed in
4. Get that fertilizer on as those perennials come out of there dormant state!

Just about wrapped up most of all the fall planting, I appreciate everyone that trusted me with your business again this year!

However, mother nature will always be the winner. Most of these battles on drought years, I'm thankful for the large amount of soybeans planted. For those of you who get bit by the drought bug every August and September soy beans will always provide a great summertime forage source an extremely effective late season plot . All of our soybean fields are disc and broadcasted so don't feel that you have to have a planter to make it work. 

 The last piece of the puzzle will be overseeding Winter wheat and Winter rye into the standing soy beans in coming weeks.

Thick grass can be love/hate when it comes to food plots. Best way to handle it is to burn it down with herbicide, and let it get brittle before turning the dirt. However this client was on a time crunch. Mowed it, then mowed it again, and tilled it under. The grass mat works well to hold additional moisture in and can really help timing the rain right. 6 hours of work and 1 inch of rain later... nailed it. The small timber plot was a great addition to the rest of this project

As we approach the end of the year. I want to take the time to thank everyone who trusted me to help improve their property... This is just the tip of the iceberg of the success from a few clients. 2024 fall planting was met with typical Midwest drought, but persistence and and strategic overseeding, created opportunities for many. I look forward to 2025!
