Do you have an Oak tree? Now is the perfect time to set up your free estimate to get it pruned! Oak trees produce sap where cut which bugs love, but that can cause damage and potentially kill your tree. Winter is the best time to have the work done due to low amounts of bugs out. Most of us still remember where we were when we found out about the attacks on our country and remember the emotions to this day as we see footage, pictures or hear stories. This month, our family would like to honor those who lost their lives in the name of freedom by offering 10% off (up to $100) of work done for our first responders and military members in our community. We can never repay or bring back those that we lost, but we can always strive to live as though it is 9/12.

During these hot summer days a lot of us day dream about fall. The warm days and cool nights, pumpkins, colorful leaves, hot chocolate and fuzzy sweaters and boots. Its enough to make you want to break out your fall decorations! But one thing that tends to drive us a little crazy is raking leaves... Its always fun the first time, who doesn't love jumping in a pile of leaves?! After the second time, it tends to get a little tedious as the trees drop their leaves like a hot potato. Instead of spending endless hours raking leaves when you could be watching or give us a call and set up an estimate so we can either take down or trim up your tree before the problem begins!

Happy 4th of July! We are proud to be Americans and even more proud to have one of our own in the U.S military. Our crew manager Price is a member of the National Guard. Both owners dad's also served during World War 2 and Vietnam, they raised their children to love and serve their country and that lesson has gone through the generations. We want to thank all Service Members for giving their time and sacrificing so much so that we can continue being the land of the brave and the free.

Meet our Crew Manager, Price! He has been part of our team since 2012. He started off working summers while in school, to full time after his National Guard graduation. He helps direct our crews and gets the job done!

Dogwood trees are a staple in Missouri! Did you know that summer is the best time to have them pruned? They are a typically a low-maintenance tree but do occasionally need dead or broken limbs taken off to keep them beautiful and vibrant! You can also have them shaped for ultimate curb appeal and to have your yard BBQ ready all summer long! Dogwoods are considered "bleeders" which means they bleed sap especially during late winter. They do not bleed during the summer making it the perfect time to call us to come take care of it!

Heath Nelson Tree Service started off as Carl Heath Tree Service and has been apart of the Independence community for over 40 years. The Nelson boys, Price, Seth and Zach (left to right) worked for Carl every summer. Brian and Gerri Nelson were family friends with Carl for many years and knew that he was wanting to retire, they decided to purchase the company to leave a legacy and a business for their family. It is truly a group effort from each family member to keep this tree service going, it has not only provided an income but also lots of family time, bonding and opportunities for Brian and Gerri to teach their children how to work hard and provide for their families. It is an honor to serve in the Independence community where the Nelsons have lived since 1996. We strive to do honest and good work to help make your home safe and beautiful!
