We're excited to share that the master plan for Hayes Arboretum recently received an Honor Award in the Design–Unbuilt category from American Society of Landscape Architects: Indiana Chapter.

Hayes Arboretum is a special place with a long history of connecting people to nature. Our team worked alongside stakeholders to create a vision that protects and enhances its natural resources while expanding opportunities for education and exploration.

We're grateful to everyone who helped shape the vision and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this incredible community asset.

🌿 Congratulations to Hayes Arboretum, our partner DELV Design, and the many project stakeholders on this recognition!

Summer is the perfect time to experience Indianapolis on two wheels or by foot. 🚴‍♀️☀

With the completed expansion of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick, visitors and residents can more easily explore destinations like the historic Madam Walker Legacy Center and the South Street corridor near Lucas Oil Stadium. These new connections make it easier than ever to discover the culture, history, and energy that make Indianapolis unique.

Whether you're heading to a concert, sporting event, local restaurant, or cultural destination, the expanded trail network helps connect the journey to the experience.

Our Spring 2026 intern capstone projects reflect REA’s commitment to life-long learning, curiosity, and knowledge sharing across all levels of the firm.

This spring, our planning interns from the University of Cincinnati explored how design can shape more connected, visible, and people-focused communities through two unique research initiatives:

🚍 Transit Legibility
Alexis Spurlock, developed concepts for redesigned signage and stop infrastructure for Cincinnati Metro. Her project focused on improving accessibility, rider experience, and strengthening transit’s presence within the public realm.

💧 Urban Waterways
Dylan Gomez examined the history of waterways in Indianapolis and explored opportunities to daylight Pogue’s Run near downtown. His research studied how cities across the country have reintegrated waterways into urban environments and identified strategies related to land use, urban design, function, and transformation.

We’re proud to support emerging professionals as they contribute fresh ideas and perspectives.

A new chapter for nature and community has officially begun. 🌿

This week marked the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Phase 1 of Carpenter Nature Preserve, transforming the former Wolf Run Golf Course into a regional park and wildlife sanctuary along the Eagle Creek corridor.

Designed in collaboration with DELV Design and Eco Logic LLC, the first phase introduces trails, nature-based play, gathering spaces, and the Prairie Pavilion, all rooted in preservation, education, and connection to the surrounding landscape.

We’re grateful to the Town of Zionsville - Government, Zionsville Parks Foundation, Zionsville Parks and Recreation, partners, donors, and community members who helped bring this vision to life, with more exciting phases still ahead.

🏁 The Town of Speedway officially unveiled the new Al Unser Sr. Roundabout today, celebrating a project that honors racing history while transforming a key gateway into town. 🏎

Located at 16th & Main, the new gateway honors four-time Indianapolis 500 champion Al Unser Sr. while creating a bold new front door for the community and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Featuring racing-inspired elements, commemorative metal panels, terraced landscapes, and public realm enhancements, the project blends infrastructure, placemaking, and storytelling into a signature destination for residents and race fans.

More than a traffic improvement, the roundabout strengthens connectivity, enhances the arrival experience into downtown Speedway, and celebrates the town’s deep motorsports heritage.
