Good design begins with understanding how a room needs to live. 🗝 For the Illinois Street living room, that meant creating a space with warmth, ease, and a sense of permanence. The generous leather sectional invites everyday gathering, while the art, lighting, textiles, and furnishings introduce color, patina, craftsmanship, and personality.

Rather than chasing symmetry or polish for its own sake, the room finds its beauty in the balance between comfort and intention. 🤍

A little moment for the laundry room sink. 🤍 Here, function gets to have some fun. A stunning warm brass KOHLER faucet, patterned tile in soft tones, a deep utility basin, natural wood, and a few simple everyday pieces come together to make this hardworking corner feel anything but ordinary.

In a luxury home, the utilitarian spaces should never feel like an afterthought. They are part of the daily rhythm of the home, which is why materiality, proportion, finish, and color matter just as much here as they do in the more visible rooms. ✨

A thoughtfully styled entry sets the tone for the entire home. ✨

At Oak Hill Estate, a carved console anchors the passage, upholstered ottomans soften the stone floor, and blue velvet chairs echo the oversized porcelain vessels. Large-scale artwork gives the hallway a sense of intention from every angle, while florals add height, movement, and a touch of romance beneath the lanterns.

Every detail honors the home’s scale while making the first moment inside feel refined from the very first step.

{ A New Chapter Begins 💻 } I’m delighted to share the launch of Story’s new retail website, a home for the collected, the storied, and the one-of-a-kind. 🤍

Story began as an answer to a question I had long been asking: where does one find furnishings worthy of an extraordinary home? What followed was the opening of two retail shoppes devoted to curated furnishings, antiques, lighting, art, décor, entertaining essentials, and unexpected finds, each chosen to bring authenticity and warmth into the home.

And now, you can shop Story online! ✨ I hope this new online shoppe makes it easier to discover the pieces that speak to you and help to tell the story of your home.

{ More Than a Blood Drive 🩸 } What may look like a few hours of giving is, for another family, the beginning of more birthdays, more holidays, more ordinary days together, and more time with someone they love. 🤍

I’m so proud to share the results from our recent blood drive with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana: 16 donors, 15 units collected, and the potential to impact up to 45 local lives.

This cause is very personal to my family and me. My sister-in-law, Jennifer, is here today because of the generosity of blood and platelet donors. People she may never meet, but whose kindness gave her the chance to heal, recover, and keep making memories with the people who love her most. Once you witness that kind of impact firsthand, you never see blood donation as a small act again.

Jennifer shares more about that impact in this video with Versiti: https://youtu.be/_AXFQlc52y8?si=MNd6CqvDWm9RSYdQ. 🔗

Thank you to everyone who came out to Story to donate, share, and support this effort! You’ve helped save lives, and you’ve done it with heart. Until next time, let’s keep showing up for each other. ✨

I’m honored to have served as a judge for the 2026 PaperCity Design Awards Houston. 🌟 Reviewing this year’s submissions was such a rewarding experience. The talent, creativity, and craftsmanship represented across Houston’s design and architecture community were truly inspiring, and it was a privilege to be part of the process.

Thank you to PaperCity Houston for the opportunity, and congratulations to this year’s winners and honorable mentions. I look forward to seeing the winning projects celebrated in the October print issue of PaperCity Houston!

This is what I love about a revival: the house already has a point of view. ✨

For Brendonwood Mid-Century Revival, the goal was to let the original character guide the next chapter. The vintage Meridian ceramic fireplace was one of the reasons our clients fell in love with the 1950s home, so we used it as the design anchor instead of treating it as a standalone feature.

Its color, shape, and texture inspired the kitchen palette, the warmth of the wood cabinetry, and the House of Hackney mural in the dining room, creating a thread between old and new. 🤍

Tomorrow, we open our doors for something very close to my heart. 🤍🩸 Join us at Story by Tiffany Skilling for our semiannual blood drive with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana, hosted in honor of my sister-in-law, Jen, whose journey with severe aplastic anemia forever changed the way our family sees blood donation.

Every donation can bring hope, strength, and more time to someone who needs it. Tomorrow from 9 AM to 1 PM, you can be that for someone.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to make an appointment, let this be it. Appointments are limited, including double red donation opportunities, and every donation can save up to three lives.

Reserve your spot here: donateblood.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/11635338 🔗

As a small thank you from me, all donors will receive 20% off at both Story locations the day of the drive. 🛍️

Against a rich wall color or wallcovering, layered artwork and collected frames create a sense of history and personality. 🤍

I’ve always loved mixing vintage finds, meaningful pieces, and unexpected textures when building a gallery wall. It’s those collected layers that make a home feel personal and lived in rather than perfectly matched or overly styled.

A thoughtfully curated wall tells a story over time and brings so much warmth and character into a space.
