Having trouble keeping critters out of your garden? This can help! Back when I was a young 'un, we raided grandpa's closet for overalls and a long-sleeve flannel shirt. We also attached something to make noise. Empty aluminum pie pans worked well
How to build a scarecrow:
1. **Gather Materials**: Collect long sticks or poles for the body, old clothes, a burlap sack or pillowcase for the head, and straw or newspaper for stuffing.
2. **Build the Frame**: Arrange the sticks or poles into a cross shape and secure them together at the center. This will form the body of the scarecrow.
3. **Dress the Scarecrow**: Dress the frame with the old clothes, stuffing them with straw or newspaper to give the scarecrow shape and volume.
4. **Create the Head**: Fill the burlap sack or pillowcase with straw or newspaper, shaping it into a head. You can add facial features with markers or buttons.
5. **Assemble**: Attach the head to the top of the body frame. Make sure it's secure and won't fall off easily.
6. **Accessorize (Optional)**: Add some finishing touches like a hat, scarf, or even a fake bird to make your scarecrow more realistic.
7. **Display**: Place your scarecrow in the garden or field, securing it firmly so it won't topple over in the wind. Enjoy your homemade scarecrow!
