I want to thank Brenda for the opportunity to help her with a variety of handyman projects. She recently had a roof replaced and they didn't replace the roof vents, especially the rangehood vent that didn't have a damper. Everytime the furnace would come on, it would draw lots of cold air through the rangehood. She had already had enough dealing with them and asked if I would replace the vent for her. I had her order a new 6" vent with damper and installed it, so that it would atleast reduce the amount oamount to come down.
Her toilet tank kept on refilling periodically and I found that it was her original ball float fill valve was faulty. I replaced the fill valve and solved the issue.

Brenda also wanted to replace her storm door on the back door and replace it with one that had a pet door. When I removed the existing storm door, I discovered that the old wood brick mould had rotted. I showed her what I found and recommended replacing it with pvc brickmould so that it wouldn't rot in the future. I also discovered that it was never insulated around the door. I insulated around the door jamb and installed new pvc brickmould and caulked around everything.

Before I had to go to the store she asked if I could replace the fresh air vent grille on the house as well. When I climbed up to measure the vent, I discovered that the company that replaced her roof, also forgot to seal over the roofing nails where the roof butted up to the siding. Of course I picked up some sealant and made sure it was all good.

I was glad I could cross off some items off of her to do list.

I want to thank Devon and Megan for the opportunity to help them with their carpeting replacement project. I also want to thank my Son Ayden for helping me with the tear out and prep work for the new carpeting. The two bedrooms and hallway all had different colored carpeting.
We replaced it all with the same carpet, so that it all flowed together.
We removed and disposed of the existing carpet, padding, and staples. While pulling staples, we discovered that the subflooring previously installed was only nailed down with smooth nails and weren't holding well. We screwed down the subflooring in both bedrooms and hallway to make sure the floor was more solid.
When it came time for the carpeting, we found that it would be easiest by pulling the carpeting through window off of the porch roof. When I was on the roof, I noticed that there were exposed nails and knee I had to apply some sealant over them.
I told Devon about it and he said that they had their roof replaced in 2022, and we found other spots where the nails were never sealed over 😔 I suggested they get ahold of the roofing company to come back and seal over all of the nails.

I want to thank Rhonda for the opportunity to help her with her bathroom makeover project. When I talked with Rhonda she said that she wanted to replace the vanity so it had more storage space, new flooring and toilet, and replace her shower surround. I we researched different options and she decided what she liked , ordered it and had it delivered to her house.
I removed the existing vanity, toilet, linoleum flooring and base trim boards. Once everything was prepped, I installed the new vanity and then the new vinyl planking. I cut, glued down, and caulked around pvc 1x6 around the perimeter and pvc quarter round around the vanity and in front of the shower.
I had to move the medicine cabinet up in order for the new faucet to fit, and installed the new faucet. I installed a new push down drain assembly and replumbed the drain with a air admittance vent.
I picked up a new toilet and bidet toilet seat and installed them for her.
Before jumping onto the shower surround replacement, she had asked if I could do something with the bath fan cover so I cleaned it all up and painted it white.
Last project for the bathroom was the shower surround. She decided on the marble Flexstone panels and shelves. I tore out the old surround, prepped the walls, cut and glued up the new panels. I applied the matching silicone all around and the corner. I secured the corner shelves in the corner and applied silicone all around.
I noticed that the front door k**b was broken and suggested replacing it, and asked her if she just wanted me to replace both the front and back door k**bs so that they had the same key, and she said that would be great, because she didn't even have a key for the back door.
I also noticed her weather stripping was damaged on the front door, so I replaced that as well.
Eye of the maintenance guy. 😉

I want to thank Marcy and Tony for the opportunity to help them with their flooring project. I tore out the carpeting, padding, tack strips, staples, and disposed of everything. I had to treat a couple areas that got moisture trapped between the subflooring and padding. I then applied primer/sealer over the entire floor. I ended up screwing down the subflooring into the floor joists to minimize squeaks.
Once the floor was prepped, I cut and installed vinyl planking. I nailed the base trim back onto the walls and applied caulk along the top and bottoms of the base trim.
Marcy had asked if I would take a look at Bryce's closet bifold door, to see if it was fixable if I had time. I looked at it and said I could fix it, just needed to pickup replacement parts.
While I was looking at the bifold door, I noticed that the wire shelving side bracket was coming out of the wall. I picked up the necessary parts and was able to fix both the bifold door and wire shelf.
I tend to end up doing a few smaller tasks when I'm working on something else, and do my best to do so if time allows.

I want to thank Joel and Jody for the opportunity to help them with their kitchen sink replacement project. Jody really wanted a white cast iron sink to help brighten it up in the kitchen and got it ordered.
After I removed the existing stainless sink, I had to install support boards for the sides.
I replaced the hot/cold water lines to the faucet and dishwasher adapting from cpvc to pex. I installed all new shutoffs and an air arrestor for the dishwasher feed line.
Lifting cast iron sinks give you a good workout for sure. Generally people have me remove cast iron and replace with stainless steel.

I want to thank Melissa for the opportunity to help her with her shower and bathu tub/shower faucets replacements project. Her faucets weren't letting the water get hot enough and my Buddy Kamm and I both looked at them before but was to risky to try and replace the cartridges, because once you took the trim kit off, the whole faucet moved around inside the wall without an access panel, risking breaking a waterline.
I cutout and installed plumbing access panels and replumbed with shut off valves on the hot/cold lines for both faucets. I also cut and installed support boards for the faucets to keep them in place for future maintenence.

I want to thank Brian and Linda for the opportunity to help them with their flooring project. They've been wanting to continue their flooring into the rest of the downstairs and got on the calendar for me to get it done for them.
They were awesome! They had almost everything moved out and had already removed the carpeting in the dining room.
While I was working on the flooring, they asked if I'd have time to install a mount and hang their TV on the wall, and fix an outlet. I got the floor done and had time to do a couple of the extras.
I also noticed the drain in the bathroom was leaking and found the gasket was upside down not creating the proper seal. I got it switched around and no leaky, leaky.

If you're wondering why you haven't seen me around town, it's because I had to say goodbye to my Transit. It served our family well for the past 9 years and I put over 140,000 miles on it. Many family trips and all of my daily business runs. My new van is already working well. I'll be getting my business decal put on hopefully soon.

I want to thank Gary and Nancy for the opportunity to help them with their flooring project. I would also like to thank my daughter Autumn for helping me with the tear out and staples removal. She felt like she wasn't doing much, but I reassured her that it was a big help, because I could concentrate on other things like getting started on laying the flooring down.
They were great to work with which made it less stressful when it came to different issues during the project.
Luckily there was only 1 major spot that needed cutout and replaced. I did have to apply floor gap filler along the marriage line to create a smooth surface.
While installing the vinyl planking in the family room with the fireplace, I noticed that the mortar between the slate had broken and was missing. I applied a mortar mix to seal the gaps and make it look like new again.
I removed the existing trim and reinstalled it after the floor was complete. I had to cut and install a few pieces of trim that was missing and in front of the patio slider and entry door. I applied caulk along the bottom of the base trim to create a more water tight seal as well.
They also asked me if I could replace their dining room light and rangehood if I had time. Luckily I got the floor done earlier than anticipated, so I was able to do the couple other things for them as well.

I want to thank Katherine for the opportunity to help her with her ceilng replacement project. Original plan was to try and go over the existing tiles, but discovered they had water damage and swole up. I removed the tiles and found the slats had water damage and sealed them with mold and mildew killer primer. I then cut and screwed up 1/2" osb before installing frp for the finished ceiling.
I nailed up the cove trim and caulked around the perimeter to create a water tight seal.
