Yes I’m still grooming! I’m just really bad at posting regularly. The other day I thought I should take more before and after pictures but then I either forgot to take before or after pictures. Oh well! My focus is on the actual grooming process—learning & practicing new methods, improving my technique, and keeping the dogs happy.🐶

Farm stand is open all day! Today we have flower bouquets, dill, kale, Napa cabbage, eggs, & garlic scapes.

Last year was this first year I grew cabbage and I fell in love with it! Maybe it’s the nostalgia of being a 80’s kid that loved Cabbage Patch Kids combined with my love of gardening, 🤷‍♀️. This year I decided to try Napa cabbage and they did so well. I netted them and grew them with alliums to reduce pests that gobble them up. I just picked some & they will be available in the farm stand this weekend.

Happy weekend everyone! It’s the last days of peony bouquets in the farm stand😢but I’m excited for summer flowers soon.

These bouquets feature some of my other favorite spring flowers Chamomile and Lacy Phacelia.

I’ve been taking care of dogs for a long time. Prior to grooming, I have assisted with boarding and daycare. I always try to do my best for the dogs.

Over the weekend a dog that I love so much started to have health issues. Not wanting to get up or eat. Something was wrong. She had been in my care for a couple days prior so the owner reached out to ask if I had noticed anything. I hadn’t really besides her seeming hesitant about jumping up but she was able with encouragement so I didn’t think much of it.

She got her checked out and she has Lyme Disease. Poor baby😢but she’s getting the care she needs. But this could have turned out differently in terms of our interaction. The owner could have thought I abused her dog and went online to trash me. Most groomers or caregivers experience this on the regular. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen and/or you shouldn’t look further if something seems wrong, but sometimes things happen and it’s not negligence or abuse.

Additional PSA- this dog had topical treatment and still got Lyme Disease. Do what you can to love your babies and keep them safe. This tick season is really bad.

Groomers don’t just make a dog look good, we are part of your dogs care team. We have our hands and eyes on every part of your dog and often notice things you might miss seeing them everyday. We notice when dogs have ear issues, growths/tumors, pain, arthritis, skin issues, etc. Today I noticed a suspicious growth that an owner didn’t know about and now it will get checked out by a veterinarian sooner. I love all the dogs and try to play a part in giving them the best care possible.

I get asked all the time what my favorite flower is and it’s daffodils!!!! I dare you to name a happier flower. Daffodils show up in early spring despite the fluctuating cold temperatures & crazy wind/storms. They are delicate and strong and come in so many varieties. These are a double blooming variety and they are in the farm stand now.
