What the heck is kerf bending?

Each slot that you see in this pic is a manual cut (a kerf) by our crew which allows the wood to then flex and bend without cracking. That's a kerf bend!

In this case we are bending the wood to form a curved window extension jamb.

Brad at work. The device he's holding is a drywall sander that sucks in the dust as it works to keep that pesky drywall dust from going all over everything. The light on the sander helps illuminate the wall so Brad can see how flat the work is coming out. A flat wall is a happy wall. Cool tech!
