This addition was designed to create more room for the homeowner and family, featuring a new en-suite and extra bunk room. All designed for many restful nights and waking up to the view.

Flashback Friday to 2006 ✨

Long before we became the full-service design-build firm we are today, collaboration was already at the heart of what we did. This cottage remodel in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin, was featured in House Beautiful and later published across the U.S., Turkey, and China.

Working alongside architects and interior designers has always been part of our story, and this project is proof that thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and creativity never go out of style.

9 years ago, Luke stepped into Carey Design Build with more than a tool belt. He brought in new perspectives and passion to continue creating peace of mind. Since then, we have watched him pour his heart into Carey and the team. Long days, hard decisions, constant problem-solving, and always caring deeply about the people around him. From carpenter to now owning and operating the company, he’s carried the legacy of Carey Design Build with so much pride and purpose.

As we celebrate 40 years of Carey Design Build, it feels extra special to celebrate Luke, too. We are so proud of everything he’s built, not just for the company, but for our team, our clients, and our family. Cheers to 9 years 🤍

It's Flashback Friday! 📸 This one takes us a little farther from home. Many years back, the Carey team traveled to Honduras to help build a schoolhouse and additional spaces for an orphanage.

It’s a trip that still gets talked about, especially by Mike. The work mattered, and being able to build something lasting was important. But what stuck with him most were the kids. He’s said more than once that if he could do it all over again, he’d pack a suitcase full of toys and spend his time playing games and just being present.

It's a good reminder that what sticks with you isn’t always the work, but it's the people. 💛
