This year Central Hardware celebrates the oldest continuously operated hardware in Lawrence County Ohio. It was 1871 when Hutsinpillar first opened its Hardware and Harness company.
Shortly there after Sheridan joined the company forming Hutisnpillar & Sheridan until Sheridan left and formed his own company East End Hardware.
A gentlemen by the name of Hacker also worked at the hardware until he left and formed his own company The Iron City Hardware.
The Central Hardware was formed and went into business in 1907 on the corner of Court Alley and 3rd Street at the address of 113 - 115 South 3rd st. In 1927 The Central Hardware Co. purchased Hutinspillar Hardware shortly after fire destroyed their business and building on South 3rd.
The Central Hardware Co. in 2026 will be celebrating the 155th anniversary of its rich history in Ironton - Lawrence County Ohio.
