FROM SHIGARAKI TO OKINAWA š
Two Regions, Two Expressions of Japanese Ceramics
This September, two ceramic artists from two very different regions of Japan come together at Orange Market.
From Shigaraki, one of Japanās historic pottery regions, Keiko Matsumoto of Keko-gama creates warm and whimsical ceramics filled with hand-painted animals, characters, and little moments from everyday life. Her pieces carry a gentle sense of humor and storytelling, bringing warmth and personality to objects made for daily use.
From Okinawa, Sanae Ozawa of Nyankoroya brings a playful, contemporary spirit to the tradition of Okinawan Yachimun. Rounded forms, expressive illustrations, and joyful colors give her work a character that feels distinctly Okinawanārelaxed, lively, and full of warmth.

As summer slowly gives way to early autumn, weāre excited to bring these two worlds together in California for a special three-day exhibition. š
