Here’s a sneak peek of one of the current master bathroom renovations underway. We took the forest green 80’s style whirlpool tub deck and 4’ x 4’ shower, and replaced it with a beautiful 9’ x 4’ open-concept shower and freestanding tub alcove. The shower is now more than double the size of the old one, with custom quartz seat, niche shelves, curb, and wall cap by Newport Design of Wauconda.
Custom ½” glass panels by Reflections in Glass, Wauconda, and beautiful custom white oak cabinets arriving next week by Wagner’s Custom Woods of Island Lake. I love being able to source all these high-end items from other local contractors like myself, supporting small businesses while achieving a perfect finish…No need to shop elsewhere. Another completed job in the books, and although this one was outside of my local radius, I was happy to do it for my longtime friend’s parents who have always treated me like family ever since I was about 10. This was mostly a master bedroom remodel, which included moving a doorway wall to increase space, changing a hinged door to a pocket, major electrical modification/ moving, adding outlets and lighting, removing a linen closet and constructing a new, larger one, and also electrical, drywall, and door/ trim work in the basement as well. Thanks for everything, and enjoy your new space as well as your retirement! 💜

Sunday Funday in Lake Geneva, WI!…
Not exactly, but I was very happy to get this job done and the customer was even happier!
I’ve had several clients now whose 30+ yr old Sub-Zero refrigerators konk out and they immediately go to buy a replacement. Then they discover that a new model to fit into the same cabinet space can cost, as in this case, $7K + and they’re not very happy to hear that price….so they buy a standard fridge for around $1K and hire us for the rest. I lower the electrical outlet in the wall behind the fridge and fabricate a simple custom “built in”. I’ve now done this same job twice for this particular client; once at their home in Barrington and again today at their second home on Lake Geneva. All said and done, they get a new fridge and a simple,
matching, and functional cabinet space while saving $4K+ over the cost of a new super- expensive fridge in the process.

One of the most satisfying things about my job is serving all of our fantastic repeat clients. This week I was called back to a great client’s home to complete of a short list of tasks...one of which included installing a new grab bar in a shower we remodeled about 4 years ago...this shower looks and operates like the day it was finished, and it’s really nice to see our work stand the test of time and daily use....

My main man Jimmy Pierre, setting up and assembling a wheelchair ramp for one of our excellent local customers who unfortunately broke his hip, underwent surgery, and is now back at home. This job was an immediate top priority, as he needed this ramp in order to go to and from Dr. visits, so I drove up to WI on a Sunday, bought the ramp from a private party, disassembled and transported the whole thing back to Island Lake, and Jimmy had it completely reassembled, installed, and safety-tested by the following afternoon...we’ve also remodeled a bathroom to add a walk-in/ transfer tub, we’re widening doorways in the house, adding grab bars, and in general, making this client’s home safer and more comfortable for his particular needs. We wish you a quick recovery Mark!...
