It seems like we have repaired alot of faulty or bad roofing this past winter. typically the newer shingles are only made to last at best 20‐30 years. eventually you will have a breach or slow leak that will lead to water damage or mold. With mold being really bad for your health, its really recommended that you remove it as soon as possible.

Its been a busy few weeks, But i want to talk about lighting. This customer's living room would turn out to be pitch black in the winter time around 4:00pm even with lamps and other methods to provide light. With just adding 4 lights in there ceiling it dramatically changed the room. now at night it could be just as bright as in the day.

Sometimes the thought of switching your house over to solar seems enticing, lower energy costs in your budget or even free to you the customer supplied by the state where they supply your solar pannels for free.

well what you dont see is this common problem. most solar pannels are installed incorrectly and over time allow water to get into your attic or ceiling joists causing damage that may or may not be major depending on how quickly it is found. Water causes mold and if left untreated can cause you health issues.

so moral of the story is, it might be free or lower your energy bills each month but if you need to pay to repair water damage, mold removal, roofing repairs, new insulation/electric work, paint and spackle work, etc its not so cost effective.

Quick story time about this black quarter round, my customer from this bathroom asked me while i was painting what we can do about the exposed edge of the tile.

she thought that i should paint it black and i explained to her that the contractor who installed these tiles left it unfinished. I told her theres a few different methods to acheive a clean edge including bull nose tiles. But after searching i found that this black quarter round was the perfect size.

moral of the story is are everything. If you hire someone to do a job like this make sure they show you a portfolio of past work if they dont point out the details to you they are not for you.
