Gary Rith began making pottery in 1983 as a ceramics major at Bennington College. After several years of teaching, including stints at the University of Illinois-Chicago Craft Shop and Cushing Academy, in 1997 he set up his first studio in New Hampshire and began making pots full-time. In 2006 he moved to the Ithaca, NY area, opened a new studio and taught at the Cornell University Ceramics Studio until it closed in 2011. 30 plus years, still going strong, making something new everyday!

Today, Sunday 10/25! Mushroom Market at Star Tree Studio ten to five! I am there myself from nine to two. Last year it was huge, artists, gnomes, fairies and elves, music, trick or treating, more art, especially mine! Like my little elephant on a shroom here…

You’re probably thinking this is a bit off the wall, dogs and yarn don’t mix! Well they do here in this yarn bowl that I made. It goes with me to Star Tree Studio on Saturday where I am at the counter WITH MY DOG from ten to three!

You will be remembering that Sunday October 25 we have the Mushroom Market (a festival of arts and magic, it is Huge!) at Star Tree Studio. I will be there that day But today my dog Cookie and myself will also be at Star Tree this afternoon 1-5. AND LOOK what came out of my kiln yesterday, a cheerful little dragon sitting atop mushrooms sculpture that I made. Beyond groovy, isn’t it!

You’ll remember that Sunday October 25 is the Star Tree Studio Mushroom Market event… and so you will not be surprised that Yes! I am going nuts making mushrooms on my pots, like these toad stools. These go with me Tuesday to the store where I will be myself ten to noon!

As a friend might say “that is so stinkin’ cute!”. Last week I drew a cat head shape on a napkin and asked Milady “can you sew a cat tea cozy for my cat teapots?” And so she has! This one goes to Star Tree Studio Saturday where I am at the counter myself ten to three!
